Why Your Photoshoot Never Works Out the Way You Plan

Shit happens you know. It’s Ok to have a bad day at photography, but why did it happen in the first place.

Most of us photographers are very excited for each photoshoot or coverage we do. In that excitement you might forget to prepare your gear for your next shoot this is because in your mind you have prepared everything from what gears you will use and what equipment you will carry along.

Other than camera and accessories, when you do an outdoor shoot other factors zeros in, these are the lighting conditions, wind, temperature and what not. You might have forecasted for a cloudy and shady day but instead, it turned out to be a bright sunny evening. So you have to change all your plans for the shoot and what shots you might have thought of taking.

Exploring new places to shoot is a thumbs up, but exploring it on location at the time of shoot is a big no-no. This happens when you arrange your shoot just a night before the actual shoot. Make sure to scout your shoot location a day before the shoot and have an idea what shots you can take. You can scout the location with your friends if the actual model or client is strict on their timing and dates for the shoot.

Not having someone to help you out. Never think that you can do it all by yourself. Most professional have an assistant photographer with them to help them along with the shoot. This is a brilliant idea to have someone give suggestions about what can or could look better to shoot with.

Be open to suggestions when shooting with friends. If you’re shooting casually with your friends let them tell what poses they like to give for the camera. This helps you get the best out of the shoot as your friend will likely to love the end result.

These might be few reasons that your photography is not working the way you have planned it. You might be missing few points to add on or to have a look at while preparing for your shoot.

Make sure to have a check on all the points and have a blasting shoot next time.
